Long-time NAWIC member, Katharine Kent is a second-generation Tucsonan. She holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from University of Houston and M.S. in Nuclear and Energy Engineering and MBA from UofA. She is a licensed professional engineer and is a Certified Energy Manager. She was awarded DOE’s Energy Innovation Award in 1990 and American Solar Energy Association Solar Women of the Year in 2007. Katharine is the President of The Solar Store, an Arizona firm providing solar energy products and services. She holds commercial and residential plumbing and electrical contractor’s licenses and was the first and only woman to hold three NABCEP certifications: PV Installer, Solar Thermal Installer and Technical Sales.
